I Love this devotional book. It is a VERY BEAUTIFUL hardcover book that I just love having in my hands to read. I have other devotionals but, this is the first one that doesn't PREACH to you but, SPEAKS to you in a way that is very down to earth and very heartfelt. The only thing is, I wish I had a CUP or a MUG to match it to have a cup of coffee while reading it and meditating. You will thoroughly enjoy this book if you purchase it, I have.

I entered my pediatric rotation scared. My attending is a PIMPing machine so I swallowed and took the hits till I found this book. All you have to do read and memorize the section you are rotating in and you will see the same exact cases in your pediatric rotation. So lets say you are Pediatric Emergency Medicine for your rotation, all you have to do is memorize that part of the soap note peds book and you will fill confident enough on your write ups and PIMPing sections with the attending.

About the Author
Brian Johnson designed, programmed, and implemented the first return sensitivity based parametric framework actively used to control risk in fixed income portfolios. He further extended the capabilities of this approach by designing and programming an integrated series of option valuation, prepayment, and optimization models.

Based on this technology, Mr. Johnson founded Lincoln Capital Management's fixed income index business, where he ultimately managed over $13 billion in assets for some of the largest and most sophisticated institutional clients in the U.S. and around the globe.

He later served as the President of a financial consulting and software development firm, designing artificial intelligence-based forecasting and risk management systems for institutional investment managers.

Mr. Johnson is now a full-time proprietary trader in options, futures, stocks, and ETFs primarily using algorithmic trading strategies. In addition to his professional investment experience, he also designed and taught courses in financial derivatives for both MBA and undergraduate business programs.

Outstanding work

I have been following Brian Johnson's work for a while now. I am a college physics professor and so I am familiar with numbers and computation which does give me an edge in this area. I can tell you straight off the bat that on the whole Brian Johnson's books and work on options trading is outstanding. Reading these books takes a lot of time (it's taken me over a year to get to grips with the spreadsheet from his previous Earnings book). I like to do this stuff as a hobby, but I also make money on the side when I get a chance. I am not reviewing these books as whether they are something worthwhile to read, in my opinion the value in this book is whether it helps you to trade better i.e. make more money and quite simply this fits the bill. Hedging against massive losses due to a black swan event is a no-brainer, because when the market plummets, there are no rules, there is no fairness and you will lose massive amounts of money if you have no plan. Always have a plan and make sure that the plan works!

This is going to require many evenings and weekends of your free time to devote to this - but there is most definitely a payoff. Correspondence with the author has been good and I truly believe he wants to help retail traders succeed.

Must Read for Options Income Traders

I have been a full-time retail options trader for the past nine years, and my focus is options income strategies. My options education is from the retail arena. I've taken courses, seminars, mentorship programs, read lots of books ...fairly typical for traders who have followed a similar path. Unfortunately for retail traders, options education is focused on everything but tail risk. In my experience, few address it and less actually actively manage it. The author tackles this issue head on. The book considers strategy, position sizing, and provides great detail in constructing position hedges using VIX options and underlying puts for option income trades.

This is one of the most important books I've read in my options career. Why? Because capital preservation in trading is paramount. No capital, no trading. Prior to reading this book I didn't have a coherent hedging strategy for my options portfolio. I'm not a doomsday prognosticator, but I believe another 9/11 type event will happen during my trading career. I'm not willing to risk blowing up my trading account, and the dreadful prospect of returning to my corporate career. Based on the book I have modified my trading plan, and no longer worry about black swan events.

If you trade option income strategies I highly recommend you read this book. The book is well written, well researched and well organized. The spreadsheet provided is a valuable tool as well. I can't believe anyone would give this a one star review, and I'm confident it is not a serious trader.

Anyone trading option income related strategies needs to read this book

Anyone employing option income related strategies needs to read this book, especially in the market environment we are currently in, with equity and bond market prices well above historical norms and implied volatility near its lowest historical levels. Brian Johnson, once again, has provided a detailed and well thought out framework for efficiently (and cost effectively) hedging any option income portfolio using a multitude of tools, including futures contracts, put options, and options on the VIX. I personally have started to implement these tools with my own option income strategies, and I have come to realize that I was previously exposed to a tremendous degree volatility and gamma related risks during times of market duress and black swan events. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking to take their trading up to the next level and protect their portfolio in the long run.

He studied advanced Hebrew under Dr. Earl S. Kalland, who was on the executive committee for the translation work of the New International Version of the Bible. Bentorah taught classical Hebrew and Old Testament for thirteen years at World Harvest Bible College, a division of LeSea, Inc. He presently teaches Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek to lay Christian leaders and pastors in the Metro Chicago area and writes daily word studies on his blog at www.chaimbentorah.com. He speaks to church and parachurch groups about the nature and means of studying the Old Testament in the original Hebrew. He is convinced that any ChristianAnd#8212;regardless of age, educational background, or abilityAnd#8212;can study the Word of God in the original languages using the resources that are available today online and through electronic media, and he conducts classes in how to use these resources to their full advantage.

Just got it today and am already learning a lot like how to use Biblehub.com and StudyLight.com on the internet. Never knew these tools were available for Bible study and they are free. I am very happy with this book and the Kindle Hebrew Word Study: Beyond the Lexicon - both very easy to use. Hebrew is not an easy language but if you just want to use it for bible study these books and tools are great. Buy it and change your life!!!

Great Book

Just got the book and like all the author's other books am really enjoying it. Our walk with Messiah is all about relationship which is what the author's other devotional books are all about. I have gleaned many valuable relationship insights from these books and would highly recommend them all. This book tells you how to go about studying various Hebrew words for yourself. Great book.

Photos Could be Bigger but Love the Lighting

I love that the photos are in chiaroscuro. The only thing is that they could be bigger otherwise they are good practice pieces.
My pet peeve is when you go to a live nude figure drawing class and the lighting is coming from all directions. I love it when the
teacher/monitor directs the lighting situation. I'd still recommend this book for that simulation.

--Please read my,(Cobalt) previous reviews of the earlier volumes--
-- I am surprised to see that there is no listing of Pose file 8 (Overhead/Underfoot) or Pose File 9 (Group poses), and I would like to take a moment to say that they are both great and you should do your best to find them somewhere... -- Volume seven is one of my favorites, the theme here is lighting, and the lit models look great and show much detail. The poses themselves are a plethora of themes from the previous series, with the added element of a single light source, making some of the models even look sinister, (fantasy artists should have fun with that). Definitely one of the better volumes.

From moderate shadow to deep chiascuro effects this is a beautiful addition to the Pose File series. The other books excellently describe the figure, in proportion, motion and moving through space, but mostly in an even tonal scale. This volume emphasizes the extremes of that scale, making it a necessary addition to the set.

Visual artist, curator and educator Karen Atkinson has taught Getting Your Sh*t Together for many years at the California Institute of the Arts, Side Street Projects, and all over the world. After sharing her wealth of knowledge with countless artists, and seeing these artists put her advice into action, it made sense to create an artist manual. Atkinson is the co-founder of Side Street Projects, an artist run organization and has worked with many other non profits and organizations including the National Association of Artists" Organizations, LACPS, Installation, Foundation for Art Resources, and others. Atkinson has shown her work all over the world. She has experience as a curator, director, editor, writer, installation artist, public projects organizer, grant writer, and teacher.
