About the Author
Dr. Susie H. VanHuss received her B.S. degree from the University of Southwestern Louisiana and her MBA and Ph.D. degrees from Indiana University. Her teaching specialties include business communications, administrative systems, and personnel management. Her work, includes textbooks in communications, keyboarding and word processing, and office technology. She has written numerous journal articles and has served on the editorial review boards of several leading business education journals.

Dr. Connie M. Forde is a professor in the Department of Instructional Systems and Workforce Development at Mississippi State University. She serves as curriculum coordinator and advises masters and doctoral students in the instructional technology programs. Dr. Forde is also the faculty advisor of Pi Omega Pi, the honorary society for business teacher education. She is an author on numerous word processing and integrated computer applications simulations as well.

Donna L. Woo is an Instructor and Department Coordinator for Information Systems/Office Automation for Cypress College and Associate Director of Education at Pacific College. She received her B.A. and M.A. in Business Education from Michigan State University and earned her Ed.D. from Nova University. Her industry experience includes work for both IBM and General Motors. A respected author, Dr. Woo has written several word processing textbooks and has served as a coauthor on several editions of South-Western College Keyboarding textbooks.

Dr. Linda Hefferin is a Professor in Business Management at Elgin Community College in Elgin, Illinois.

Different edition

I typed in the ISBN for the book I needed and the description and the image was for the book and editon that I wanted so I purchased it and even on 2 day ship it was such a good deal. I guess the deals that are to good to be true are.. I recieved the book and it was the word 2002 edition not the 2007 edition shown in the image.. buyers beware..

Took this class in college when it first came out, and it helped me out a lot. Went back for another copy to give to my sister and she loves it. It makes learning how to type a lot more fun than the traditional sense

Just wonderful!

I have been counting down the days for this book and I definitely didn't waste my time reading it. First, it was longer than previous books, more detail and more personality.

Star and Jazin are a wonderful couple, he's an alpha male who is in for a very rude awakening. Star is small but she's mighty and he needs to remember that she can take care of herself. With the addition of Madas and his two captains, and a new cast of characters, this is setting up to become a really great series.

I just love her books! Fantastic read!

Epic Sci Fi Series

River, Star, and Jo were abducted by aliens. Each girl if finding out that their abductors are their soul mates who want nothing more than to claim their fragile Earth mates and keep them safe and protected in the lap of luxury for the rest of their lives
This is book 2 featuring the petite yet big hearted Star. Being smaller than most people she has learned to stand up for herself and disprove those who think that small means fragile, demure, and/or passive. Even if it takes saving her big bad mate Jazim to prove it.

If it were possible to give this book ten stars I would. It's a contemporary sci fi humorous adventure book that includes an erotic romance between Star and Jazim (thanks again Amazon for taking out tags). It has aliens who are big & bad with alpha personalities who find their mates and want to protect and lap all the creature comforts that they can so the girls know they are loved yet are not put into danger. In this book though the alien needs to be rescued as HE is kidnapped and about to die.

Along the way Star makes new friends includes a reptilian female Madas (who I absolutely love to pieces), Gril (I so want to see him taken down a notch or two), Jarmen (stole my heart and affection), Armet, and Dakar. Each personality adds a new dimension to this book that gives life to this fictional world the author has created. There are other characters who breath life into this story but I'll refrain from mentioning them as you'd loose the fun and surprises if I listed them. Viva Le France!!!!!

wonderful fantasy sci fi read that has some erotic scenes that are downright steamy but made me a fan because of it's barbarian mentality alpha alien who get taken down by one kick ass Earth female.

Ok sequel but first is better

I read River's Run and enjoyed it for the most part, so was looking forward to Star's story. It started out quite good with lots of action and I was glad the author didn't rehash the plot as she did in the Dragon Lord series. Star was very feisty, but sometimes I think both she and the Kassian people expected more out of her than she should have been capable of. Seriously, she is a circus performer (high wire) but is willing and able to kill seasoned warriors? At least with River, she had extensive skill with knives. It just became to unbelievable, then downright silly when she was kidnapped and taken aboard the freighter by inept Frenchmen. Really?? I also wish the men would have been stronger. They too are seasoned warriors who took shit from no one, yet these three women ran circles around them. IT just didn't seem plausible. I think I will skip Jo's story, as the idea of an entire circus traveling to the Kassian world seems downright ridiculous and from the bit at the end of Star's story, that might come to pass. I enjoy series, but the later ones have to be as good as the first to keep my interest.

About the Author
George Michell trained as an architect in Melbourne, and then obtained a PhD in Indian Archaeology at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, with a dissertation on Early Chalukya temples. Since then he has undertaken numerous documentation and research projects, most recently with John M. Fritz at Hampi. Surendra Kumar studied information technology in Bengaluru, and now works part-time as a photographer, specializing in panoramic topographic views. His work has been spectacularly showcased in Discovering the Deccan (Pictor, Mumbai)

Good introduction to archaeological issues

In contrast to the other reviewer (did he/she read that book?) I strongly recommend "New Light on Hampi". It is an easy readible (at least to any person really interested in south asian art) and reliable introduction to some actual archaeological questions concerning the architecture, sculptural art, hydraulic works and urban layout of Vijayanagara, the famous capital of the late-medieval, last hindu-empire. ("Hampi" is the name of a modern village and pilgimage centre situated in the archaeological zone.) The authors are highly experienced scholars who are trained on archaeology, art history, anthropology and even astrophysics. Among them are the editors, John M. Fritz and George Michell, who since decades are in the front line of the research and fieldwork at Vijayanagara.
The text shows a modern and adequate approach to archaeological questions since not only buildings like temples, palaces, city walls are mentioned but also questions of the everyday life like water supply, irrigation and settlements. The book is not restricted to the archaeological zone proper but reviews Vijayanagara as part of its larger metropolitan area.
The fine pictures by Clare Arni included in this book are as much informing as they invite to visit Vijayanagara.
A short bibliography of english publications since 1980 gives some suggestions for further reading.
Readers looking for some practical guide book better choose other titles about Vijayanagara: That is not the purpose of the reviewed book.

Poorly written book

A fantastic topic spoilt by poor writing skills. No clue what the author is after. Diagrams in the book are so arcane. It is hard to make any sense of the book unless you have visited Hampi. Photography is also not upto the mark. Although the production quality of the book (quality of paper used, bind etc.) is quite good.

Save your money - buy some other book instead.

Dr. Weeks is also well known for his work on fear of positive evaluation as a proposed core element of social anxiety.
